    Sonar testing at Gildenburgh

Supported by divers, Red Herring dives to the 8 meter platform at Gildenburgh waterOn Wednesday 5th November CAUV returned to Gildenburgh water with CUUEG, the university SCUBA society. This time we had the Tritech Gemini sonar mounted on the front of Red Herring and the focus was data collection to allow further development.

The second purpose of the trip was to demonstrate our collaboration with CUUEG for Simon, from SCUBA magazine, who brought along some superb underwater photographic equipment to capture our AUV in action with the divers.

Both aspects of the mission were a resounding success, with the Gemini integrated and working flawlessly, and over 5GB of data collected. Simon has also shared with us the fantastic photos that we hope will soon be appearing in the magazine!
